End plastic pollution everywhere (and maybe earn a college credit while you do)

“Not taking action is not an option,” says Judith Enck, founder of Beyond Plastics. A former administrator at the US Environmental Protection Agency, Enck has published a new book, The Problem With Plastic. Bring yourself up to date on plastics with this leader of the anti-plastics movement, and learn more about what you can do to end the plastic-pollution of our environment, our food, and our bodies. Ms. Enck, who is one of the world’s authorities on plastic, discusses her book in a podcast on the Mongabay Newscast. Grab your notebook because this interview is a veritable “how-to” for anti-plastics activism. If you really want to dig further into the deep problem of plastic, you can take the online course that Ms. Enck teaches at Bennington College in Vermont, USA.

La vita è bella! Electric- and pedal-power delivery vehicles are the future

No more stinky emissions, no more giant delivery trucks creating traffic congestion. From Amsterdam to Milan, from Berlin to Barcelona, and New York, mini electric and pedal-powered delivery vehicles are transforming city centers back into quieter, cleaner, more-carbon-free locales. With the Netherlands leading the way, and New York blazing the eCargo bike path, zero-emission delivery vehicles are in our future.

The restorative power of Nature

If your inner climate activist needs motivation or a mental “vacation”, there’s no better substitute than looking at the stunning beauty of nature. Greta Thunberg has told us, ‘get out into nature!’ When we stop to gaze quietly at the natural world, we can calm down. Our brains are relieved of internal noise and distraction. We can think more clearly. Best of all, when we observe nature and the complexities of biodiversity, we appreciate and value them more, and we become more passionate about saving nature from destruction and extinction. Share this imagery with friends and family who also need breaks, or even with your closest climate denier.

China’s remarkable clean energy accomplishments

China is leading the world in its vast clean energy accomplishments. Some of it’s awesome achievements are recorded in this photo essay by photographer Weimen Chu, published in the latest issue of Yale Environment’s E360 Digest. Yale Environment’s website will lead you to more valuable reading about climate and the environment.
