Climate and wood species protection are music to their ears

Musicians of forty German orchestras collaborate to form Orchester des Wandels, or Orchestras of Change. Their mission is to protect climate, establish sustainable standards for concert and touring operations, and support their instrument makers’ reforestation and conservation projects in Madagascar and Brazil.

To ensure there is a sustainable inventory for their instrument-making in the future, violin and bow makers of Eben!Holz (German for “ebony”) and the International Pernambuco Conservation Initiative are replanting ebony and pernambuco forests in Madagascar and Brazil. Local residents earn a living managing the new forests.

Wayfinding the human responsibility to Mother Earth
