The global climate strike (GCS) is another success.

We don’t have enough data to present a specific number, but all indications suggest that the number of people joining the global climate strike increased again, just like last year.

In collaboration with the Fridays for Future Global Climate Strike Workgroup (FFF GCS WG) and Fridays for Future International, we’d like to do a survey to ask your opinion of the global climate strike, and to increase our awareness of strikes being held across the globe. Please check out this form, and if you have the time to fill it out that would be great!

The GCS started in Aotearoa (New Zealand), where participation was definitely bigger than last year.

In Bangladesh the number of people grew too, as well as the number of locations

In Europe the GCS grew at least in some places.

We didn’t see many protests in the US, perhaps because of the massive “hands off” strike the weekend before. Canada was alive and kicking!

We are missing a lot of data from Africa and Latin America, this could be due to media bias, and the suppression of activists in these regions.
